Late final week, U.S. Securities and Alternate Fee chair Gary Gensler stated that he was “proud to serve” the company, which some are taking as a touch at an upcoming resignation. Gensler has confronted heavy criticism for his crackdown on crypto, together with a latest lawsuit from 18 states, and is probably going to get replaced underneath President-elect Donald Trump, who has vowed to oust Gensler.
On Tuesday, The Wall Avenue Journal reported that Trump is assembly with Brian Armstrong, the CEO of crypto change Coinbase, to debate potential personnel appointments. That very same day, Trump stated he desires Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick to function his Commerce Secretary. Lutnick is a vocal crypto fanatic who’s been stablecoin large Tether’s Wall Avenue banker for years.
That is all to say, crypto is having a second.
